Deal Reached to Provide MRO Support for GE9X Engine

FARNBOROUGH, ENGLAND – HAECO Group and GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) have agreed to extend the GE Branded Services Agreement and Offload Agreement for GE90 Engines through 2040. Additionally, a 15-year Material Service Agreement for GE90 engines has been established under which HAECO will continue to provide engine overhaul services for GE Aerospace and expand its external GE90 MRO market.

HAECO Group and GE Aerospace also strengthened their longstanding strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding that secures HAECO Engine Services (Xiamen)'s position in the MRO global network for the GE9X engine.

“HAECO is committed to providing world-class engine services to our customers, and we are proud to have been supporting the GE90 engine line through HAECO Engine Services (Xiamen) for over 15 years,” said Richard Sell, Chief Executive Officer of the HAECO Group. “These agreements are another step forward in our successful partnership with GE. As a result of the GE90 extension and the GE9X agreement, we will further enhance our competitiveness in the open market and continue to provide quality services to GE Aerospace and other customers over the course of the next two decades.”

Since 2010, HAECO has supported GE Aerospace and its customers with maintenance, overhaul, and repair of GE90 engines, delivering 950 shop visits with unwavering quality and turnaround time.

“HAECO is a highly capable MRO provider, and we are pleased to extend our strategic long-term partnership to support the global GE90 and GE9X MRO networks,” said Russell Stokes, President and CEO, Commercial Engines and Services, GE Aerospace. “As the 777X moves closer to EIS, our partnership with HAECO signifies our commitment to having an MRO network in place to support the GE9X powered fleet.”

Designed specifically for the Boeing 777 family, the GE90 engine family has flown nearly 130 million fight hours and 18 million cycles since entry into service in 1995. The GE90 (in its 115B version) is currently the largest and most powerful commercial aviation engine and has proven to be tremendously reliable and popular with customers around the world.

The GE9X offers the lowest NOx emissions in its class and is the quietest GE Aerospace engine per pound of thrust. Like all GE Aerospace commercial engines, the GE9X is compatible with any approved Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Incorporating a suite of propulsion technologies unique to GE Aerospace, the GE9X offers up to 10 per cent lower specific fuel consumption compared to the engine it replaces.
