HAECO, a leading provider of aircraft and engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solutions, has successfully completed the overhaul and delivery of its first GP7200 High-Pressure Compressor (HPC) module. The HPC is a core component of the Engine Alliance GP7200 engine, which powers the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft.

The milestone expands HAECO's support for the global Airbus A380 fleet beyond base maintenance to include GP7200 maintenance and overhaul, reflecting the company's continued investment in engine MRO capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. HAECO Engine Services (Xiamen) (HES), HAECO’s specialist engine MRO facility in the Chinese mainland, previously obtained approvals from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for GP7200 HPC module overhaul capability, and signed an Engine Equipment Service Agreement with GE Engine Services. Working in close collaboration with GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, HES redelivered the overhauled GP7200 HPC module in April 2026.

Simon Smith, Director and General Manager of HES, said, “The delivery of our first GP7200 HPC module marks an important milestone for HES. It demonstrates our ability to expand our engine MRO portfolio and support airlines, lessors and engine owners with additional overhaul capability. We remain firmly committed to developing our services in line with growing customer demand, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.”

This achievement follows the successful delivery of HES' first CF34-10A engine earlier this year. HES is an Authorized CF34-10A Service Provider and the Sole GBSA-License Holder in Greater China region for CF34-10A in addition to being the only Holder of GE90 GE Brand Services Agreement.

To further support the overhaul, testing, and repair of next-generation engine programmes, including the CF34-10A and GE9X platforms, HES has commenced construction of a Phase 3 facility adjacent to its existing site with a total floor area of 10,014 square metres spread across two levels, which is scheduled to be operational in the second quarter of 2027. Reflecting HAECO Group’s 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy, the facility features energy-efficient LED lighting and a solar panel system to reduce environmental impact.
