Also honoured with ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ for outstanding employer branding and recruitment campaign
HAECO, a global leader in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) solutions, has been recognised with two accolades at the 6th MRO Asia-Pacific Awards: “Asia MRO of the Year – Airframe” for its exceptional airframe expertise and outstanding industry accomplishments, and “Marketing Campaign of the Year” for its strong employer branding and impactful talent recruitment campaign.
Asia MRO of the Year – Airframe
HAECO’s recognition as “Asia MRO of the Year – Airframe” underscores its remarkable growth, technological innovation, and strong commitment to sustainability within the airframe MRO sector. Through strategic partnerships and the integration of advanced technologies, the company has solidified its reputation as a world-class leader and trusted service provider in this highly competitive industry.
The judging panel from Aviation Week remarked, “HAECO impressed the judges with its exceptional achievements, including the expansion of its operations and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies. Notable initiatives include sustainability leadership with its LEED Platinum-certified hangar, the use of drone inspections, and strategic agreements with industry leaders such as Boeing and COMAC. Its [HAECO’s] innovative approach and worldwide strategy position it as a world-class provider in the airframe MRO sector.”
From 2024 to 2025, HAECO marked several milestones, including providing heavy maintenance for Emirates’ first A380 as well as base maintenance services for leading cargo airlines SF Airlines and Cargolux. It also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on airframe, engine, and component services for COMAC platforms such as the C909 and C919. Additionally, HAECO strengthened its global partnerships with OEMs like Boeing, Satair, and Proponent to enhance and streamline material management across its operating companies.
As a leader in technological innovation, HAECO is investing in new technologies such as drone-assisted inspections, automated guided vehicles, and autonomous mobile robots to advance safety and efficiency. Opening soon in 2026, its new hangar near Xiamen Xiang’an International Airport is the world’s largest single-span hangar and the first outside the U.S. to earn LEED Platinum certification.
Richard Sell, Chief Executive Officer of HAECO Group, remarked, “Being named ‘Asia MRO of the Year – Airframe’ affirms our industry-leading capabilities, strategic partnerships, and steadfast commitment to sustainable development, innovation and excellence built over 75 years. This accolade builds on our success as last year’s ‘Asia MRO of the Year – Engine,’ further highlighting HAECO’s expertise in MRO.”
Marketing Campaign of the Year
The judging panel was impressed by HAECO’s recruitment campaign for its Aircraft Engineering Licence Trainee (AELT) and Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic Trainee (AMMT) programmes in Hong Kong, complemented by a year-long employer value proposition campaign. Timed with the peak graduate season and a career expo, the recruitment campaign built on its employer value proposition “Be part of something bigger” and targeted engineering graduates and early-career professionals.
The awards judging panel commented, “With a focused budget and timing aligned to graduation cycles, the initiative delivered measurable results, including a doubling of qualified applicants and increased female engagement, while strengthening employer branding. Creative elements like monthly people stories and compelling video narratives further enhanced its impact. In a challenging talent environment, HAECO’s campaign is a shining example of how marketing can drive workforce development and position an employer as a leader in the Asia-Pacific MRO sector.”
Richard Sell added, “We are delighted that our focused efforts to build a strong employer value proposition and attract top talent have earned us the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ title. Our people are the cornerstone of HAECO’s operations, and this recognition validates the strength and appeal of our value proposition and talent initiatives.”
Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, HAECO provides nose-to-tail aircraft maintenance solutions in airframe, component and engine through its state-of-the-art facilities in Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Europe and the U.S. These two awards strengthen HAECO’s standing as one of the world’s largest and premier providers of airframe services, and a champion of brand marketing and talent recruitment.
The MRO Asia-Pacific Awards, organised by Aviation Week, honours visionaries and pioneers across 10 categories who are shaping the future of MRO and advancing industry excellence throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The awards ceremony and dinner are held concurrently with the MRO Asia-Pacific show in Singapore from 16 to 18 September.
