HAECO is proud to announce a landmark achievement in sustainable aviation maintenance! Our upcoming hangar at Xiamen Xiang’an International Airport has earned the prestigious LEED Platinum certification – the highest level of recognition in the LEED rating system. Set to open in 2026, this facility stands as the world’s largest single-span hangar and the first outside the U.S. to receive this top recognition for sustainable design.

The hangar features cutting-edge green building innovations and advanced technology. Central to its design is a ‘central axle’ concept that streamlines logistics and material transport across the site. Eco-friendly infrastructure such as solar panels, intelligent building management systems, and state-of-the-art waste treatment technologies ensures minimal environmental impact. Beyond its operational excellence, the facility is a testament to HAECO’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development and the safety and wellbeing of our team.

Earlier this year, HAECO achieved another milestone when the expanded solar photovoltaic (PV) system at our Hong Kong base maintenance facility began generating 4,000,000kWh of electricity annually—the highest power output from such a system at a single site in Hong Kong. Guided by our dedication to safety, innovation, and our 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy, HAECO is determined to lead the aviation industry toward a greener future.
