HAECO was proud to welcome 80 Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland secondary school students to our Hong Kong maintenance hangars in support of Cathay Pacific's 'I Can Fly Youth Academy 2026', the airline's flagship youth development initiative.

Guided by our experienced engineering professionals and trainers, the students spent the day exploring the world of aircraft MRO through an up-close tour of an Airbus A330-300 aircraft and immersive VR simulation sessions at our Safety Experience Training Centre.

Questions from the students, ranging from career prospects and tooling types to cabin modification timelines and engine thrust, demonstrated their strong interest in aircraft maintenance. Beyond the technical knowledge, the day was also about sparking curiosity by showing students that keeping an aircraft safe and airworthy takes a whole community of skilled specialists, and that a career in aviation engineering is well within their reach.

A special thanks to Cathay Pacific, our engineering volunteers, and all the participating students for their incredible enthusiasm. We look forward to continuing our support for programmes that empower youth and cultivate the next generation of aviation talent.
