At the HAESL workshop in Hong Kong, we offer maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) as well as testing services for Rolls-Royce Trent 700, 800 and XWB engines, specialising in the repair and overhaul of strategic engine components such as turbine blades and fan blades. In the Chinese Mainland, HAECO Engine Services (Xiamen) provides comprehensive services for GE90 engines.


Our technical training facilities were founded in 1957 in Hong Kong to meet a pressing need for localised professional training. Since then, more than 10,000 aircraft mechanics and 1,800 aircraft maintenance engineers have completed technical training through HAECO, in Hong Kong and later Xiamen, laying a firm foundation for the Group’s operational excellence.

HAECO partners with SF Airlines for C-checks on Boeing 747 freighter fleet

HAECO, a world-leading aircraft engineering and maintenance solutions provider, is pleased to announce a new partnership with SF Airlines to provide C-checks for its Boeing 747 freighter fleet at HAECO’s state-of-the-art maintenance facilities in Hong Kong. This strategic agreement also secures future hangar slots to support SF Airlines’ operations.   Since September 2024, HAECO Hong Kong has been executing C-checks for SF Airlines’ fleet of four widebody Boeing 747-400F freighters. The latest partnership outlines three Boeing 747 base maintenance inputs in 2025, along with long-term hangar slot reservations for 10 Boeing 747 inputs from 2026 to 2030. “Our partnership with SF Airlines is a testament to our commitment to the Chinese Mainland market. We recognize the growing demand for reliable maintenance solutions in this region and are dedicated to supporting our customers with tailored services that enhance their operational capabilities,” said Gerald Steinhoff, Chief Commercial Officer at HAECO. “HAECO is excited to offer world-class MRO solutions to SF Airlines, the largest air cargo operator on the Chinese Mainland. HAECO launches drone-assisted aircraft inspection trials in USA facilities

HAECO, a global leader in aircraft engineering solutions and engine services, has launched drone-assisted aircraft inspection trials at its facilities in the USA. This initiative aims to integrate advanced drone technology into the aircraft maintenance process, enhancing inspection efficiency and effectiveness across its American operations.  By utilizing autonomous drone technology, HAECO seeks to improve inspection efficiency and safety standards. The initiative developed in partnership with Donecle, is designed to enhance the processes in detecting structural defects, assessing paint quality, and identifying lightning strike damage. The autonomous flight capability allows for comprehensive inspections of hard-to-reach areas, reducing the need for human access at high elevations and minimizing potential safety risks. "The launch of these trials marks an important step in our commitment to smarter, safer, and more efficient aircraft maintenance solutions," said Summit Chan, Group Director of Corporate Development at HAECO. Cindy Chen - Growing Stronger with Every New Challenge

Cindy Chen joined HAECO right after graduating and has dedicated 17 years to HAECO Landing Gear Services. She started her journey as a materials inspector, where she meticulously examined aircraft components to ensure they met the highest quality standards. Working in the aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) industry instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and commitment, as she understood that every detail plays a vital role in the safety of countless air travellers. Over the years, Cindy’s attention to detail and exceptional work ethic stood out. She was promoted to the Quality Assurance Department, where she participated in quality audits and system management, ultimately becoming the leader of the Quality Assurance team. Her outstanding performance led her to the role of Safety Manager, where she oversaw occupational health and safety, fire protection, and the promotion of sustainable business practices. Today, she serves as the Quality and Safety Manager, responsible for both quality control and ensuring a safe working environment for her colleagues. Each new role has brought fresh challenges, but Cindy embraces them with vigour and determination. She believes that continuous learning is essential for maintaining her passion and curiosity. She values effective communication and teamwork, recognizing that collaboration allows individuals from diverse backgrounds to tackle problems together. Last but not least, she emphasizes the importance of humility and an open mind, which have helped her confidently face challenges and drive her commitment to continuous improvement. Cindy’s journey reflects her dedication to growth and excellence, showing how embracing challenges can lead to both personal and professional development.
