From academia to airline, agriculture, and now MRO, HAECO Hong Kong Head of Business Improvement, Teresa Cheung, shares her diverse career journey with us. 

“I began my career in academia, working as a teaching assistant at The Chinese University of Hong Kong after graduating with a degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis. However, my passion for technology led me to transition to Cathay Pacific's IT team, where I spent 16 years honing my skills in safety, systems, and engines.

After leaving Cathay Pacific, I decided to pursue my love for nature and opened a natural healing studio and organic farm in Kam Tin. The studio provided a spacious and relaxing area for people to make organic food and products such as bread and cosmetics, while the farm allowed me to indulge my passion for growing organic food.

Joining HAECO as a Group IT Manager gave me the opportunity to lead a project team of 13 people in developing an end-to-end IT solution, AMOS. The project, which lasted 30 months from sourcing the vendor through to implementation, was a resounding success due to the high morale of the team. As the linchpin of the project, I take great pride in this achievement.

My personal principles align with these values, and I believe that there are no excuses for not trying, no matter how many people try to hold you back. I carry the belief that anything we want to achieve is possible, and I view every obstacle as an opportunity to improve our circumstances."
