Kelvin Tam began his career at HAECO in 2013 as a graduate trainee, rotating through various departments such as Base Maintenance, Planning and Production Control (PPC), Technical Services, Quality and Safety, and Business Improvement. These diverse experiences fostered a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie, allowing him to form meaningful connections with his peers, which he considers a vital part of his early career journey.

"There were some memorable days," Kelvin recalls. "There were instances where we needed to be back in the hangar at 4 a.m. to prepare for test flights, but everything becomes meaningful because you have a group of good friends by your side."

During his time in PPC, Kelvin's team utilized a digital system for resource planning and management. This experience sparked his realization of the importance of digitalization and transformation in operations, igniting his interest in digital technology. In 2022, a new chapter unfolded when HAECO established the Group Digital department. Kelvin envisioned a future where technology could unlock new pathways for the company.

In this new role, he explored how digital technology could reshape workflows, turning obstacles into opportunities. He collaborated closely with colleagues from various departments and engaged with clients to address unresolved challenges in current operational processes. One of his proudest achievements was adopting a user-centric approach to innovation, where his team developed proposals for cutting-edge technologies aimed at streamlining resource allocation and maintenance processes, significantly enhancing efficiency and output.

As the years pass, Kelvin remains positive and energetic, enjoying basketball in his free time just as he did in his youth. Looking ahead, he believes that HAECO not only keeps pace with change but leads the charge into a new era of the MRO industry through exciting transformations. Together with his colleagues, Kelvin is co-creating a future where the industry will be redefined by technology, collaboration, and bold vision.
