HAECO announces new appointment in Global Engine Support

HAECO Group, a leading global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Corné van Rooij as the new General Manager of HAECO Global Engine Support, effective 8 April 2024. Operating from its Heathrow base in London, Mr. van Rooij will assume a pivotal role in overseeing the group's worldwide engine support business. He will be responsible for delivering comprehensive turnkey solutions to customers, encompassing both on-wing and near-wing maintenance of aircraft engines. Under his leadership, HAECO Global Engine Support aims to expand its global presence, further optimize operations across all its engine support business sites and enhance collaborations with strategic partners.

Mr van Rooij has over 25 years of experience in airline operations as well as aircraft and engine MRO operations. Prior to joining HAECO, Mr. van Rooij had a successful tenure at KLM Engineering & Maintenance, where he served in several key roles. As the Programme Manager for Strategic Projects, he was responsible for evaluating the company's engineering and maintenance real estate portfolio and was involved in new-generation engine negotiations. In his role as Plant Leader for Repair Engine Services, he oversaw the repair of engine components for aircraft, land, and marine applications. He also held the position of Programme Manager for GEnx, focusing on cost of ownership, operational excellence, and building relationships with OEMs. Additionally, Mr. van Rooij served as the Deputy Director for component repair and worked in various technical and managerial roles, specializing in powerplant on-wing engineering and component repair. 

Outside of his professional roles, Mr. van Rooij has actively contributed to the aviation industry as a board member of the Dutch Gas Turbine Association and the Netherlands Association of Aeronautical Engineers where he has been instrumental in promoting knowledge sharing and networking within the industry. He is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Mr. Kevin Kruger, the current General Manager of HAECO Global Engine Support, will conduct a handover for a three-month period after Mr. van Rooij commences his service, and will continue to retain responsibility for the business during this period. HAECO would like to express its gratitude to Mr. Kruger for his dedicated service to the company. In addition to his contributions at HAECO Hong Kong, Mr. Kruger has played a vital role in driving the success and growth of HAECO Global Engine Support during his tenure, and the company wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
