Training Academy

The HAECO Training Academy offers technical-focused trainee programmes — the Aircraft Engineering Licence Trainee (AELT) and Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic Trainee (AMMT) — delivered through Hong Kong’s first dedicated training facility in aircraft engineering.

Aircraft Engineering Licence Trainee Programme (AELT)

Embark on a rewarding career in aviation with our Aircraft Engineering Licence Trainee (AELT) Programme. The Programme offers a fast-track route to become an internationally recognised Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

Programme Details:

Our structured 36- or 42-month training programme prepares you to become a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. You will gain technical expertise through a blend of theoretical instruction, practical workshops, and hands-on experience, covering aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory standards.

What you need:

A recognised degree in Engineering or related disciplines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A good sense of safety awareness

Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic Trainee Programme (AMMT)

Kickstart your career in aircraft maintenance with Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic Trainee Programme. Our AMMT Programme is designed to develop you into a qualified and skilled Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic. As a trainee, you will receive comprehensive support from the company for further education and professional development throughout your career journey in HAECO

Programme Details:

A 12-month structured programme is designed to develop our trainees into a qualified and skilled Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic.

The Company will fully subsidise trainees who meet the requirements to pursue a part-time Higher Diploma course in the relevant disciplines which is registered under the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship.

What you need:

• Completion of HKDSE (or equivalent)

• For Trainee who will join the Registered Apprenticeship Scheme: Completion of HKDSE, with Level 2 (or equivalent) or above in five subjects, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, as required by the Institution

Engineering Trainee (ET)

Join the Engineering Trainee Programme and build a strong foundation through hands‑on experience, professional training, and mentorship in a world‑class aircraft maintenance environment.

Programme Details:

The HAECO Engineering Trainee Programme is a 4‑year structured training programme designed to develop future professional planning engineers or team leaders in engineering, planning, design and support functions.

Through a combination of on‑the‑job training, structured learning, and practical exposure, the programme equips trainees with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed in the aviation engineering field.

What you need:

A recognised Engineering degree (in relevant discipline*)
Fresh graduates or graduates with less than 3 years’ work experience
Strong interest in building a professional engineering career in aviation
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Self‑motivated, analytical, and innovative mindset
A strong team player

*Participants with academic qualifications recognised by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) may undergo HKIE accredited Scheme “A” Training under Aircraft Discipline. For graduates studying outside Hong Kong, please check with HKIE for information on Scheme “A” accreditation programme.
