Program highlights
The Aircraft Apprenticeship Program is a 2-year program that includes 7 weeks of paid Related Technical Instruction (RTI) at HAECO in Lake City, Florida. Upon completion of RTI, the apprentice is assigned to an aircraft maintenance crew and will complete the balance of the apprenticeship program as a trainee under the mentorship and supervision of experienced aircraft technicians. The apprenticeship program is available for the occupations of Structures Mechanic and Interiors Mechanic. Currently this program is only available at our Lake City, Florida location.
As an Apprentice, some of your duties will be to:
Fabricate parts as required (Structures Mechanic)
Layout and perform complex structural repairs (Structures Mechanic)
Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Follow all safety procedures and specifications
Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties
Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner
Development path
The Apprenticeship Program at HAECO in Lake City, Florida provides you with the knowledge and skills to qualify for entry level employment at HAECO as a Structures or Interiors Mechanic after successful completion of the Related Technical Instruction (RTI). RTI Course work includes aerostructures industry standards, aerostructures materials, production procedures, planning, aviation standards, and aerostructure assemblies. Apprentices are paid while in RTI and after completion are assigned to a structures or interiors crew at HAECO.

Shop safety
Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
Read and interpret Structural Repair Manuals (SRM)
Assemble, manufacture, and repair aircraft components
Understand quality control and quality assurance
