HAECO has signed a new service agreement with Air India to provide technical ground handling services at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). The three-year contract covers line maintenance support through 2029 for the airline’s wide-body fleet, including the Boeing 777, 787, and Airbus A350.
HAECO and Air India have a long-standing partnership spanning more than a decade. Beginning with base maintenance inputs and non-technical transit flight services in Hong Kong, HAECO had expanded its support to provide technical services to Air India at Pudong Airport in 2014, until operations were suspended due to the pandemic. Following Air India’s resumption of this route earlier this February, HAECO was once again selected as its trusted maintenance partner. As Air India continues to expand its services into China, Shanghai Pudong represents a strategic hub for the Indian flag carrier. Backed by more than 75 years of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) expertise, a strong track record with Air India, and a well-established operational network across Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Europe, and the United States, HAECO is well positioned to support Air India’s growth into the Chinese Mainland market. HAECO currently operates 19 line maintenance stations in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland.
