HAECO Xiamen Receives ISO 14001:2004 Certification
HAECO Xiamen became one of China’s first Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisations with an Environmental Management System (EMS) implemented to ISO 14001:2004 standards, as certified by SGS, a leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company headquartered in Switzerland. The ISO 14001:2004 is an internationally recognised standard that specifies EMS requirements, against which organisations can develop policies enabling them to assess and continuously enhance their environmental performance.
As part of its commitment to sustainable practices, HAECO Xiamen follows five guiding principles - Conservation, Legal Compliance, Education, Transparency and Continuous Improvement. Its EMS is designed to reduce resource and energy consumption, as well as facilitate responsible waste management and staff engagement. A dedicated Environmental Management Team is responsible for compliance, managing and reporting on the company’s environmental performance. These efforts are supported by the Xiamen Environmental Protection Bureau and local universities through regular independent monitoring and audits.
“HAECO Xiamen’s adoption of the ISO 14001:2004 framework for environmental management stems from our firm commitment to stakeholders to operate in a responsible and forward-looking manner. We are continuously striving to improve our approach to people, performance and the environment - this is one of the key drivers for our long-term sustainability,” said Summit Chan, CEO of HAECO Xiamen.
