      HAECO Group Appoints Chief Executive Officer

      HAECO is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Walschot as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 December 2019. 

      With over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, Mr. Walschot is a recognised industry leader and well-rounded aviation executive, most recently as Chief Executive Officer at SR Technics.  He has previously worked in the aviation MRO industry in Europe, the United States, Singapore, and Mainland China. 

      Commenting on the new appointment, Mr. Merlin Swire, Chairman of HAECO Group, said: “Frank brings with him a wealth of knowledge and international experience in the MRO industry. I am confident that his leadership will help to deliver long-term sustainable growth for the HAECO Group.” 

      Summit Chan will continue to act as Interim CEO at HAECO until 1 December. He will then take up the role of Group Director Corporate Development, and retain his current roles as Chairman of HAECO Xiamen and HAECO’s other China Joint Ventures.

      Frank Walschot – Biography 

      In 1984, Frank graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Hogeschool Zuid, the Netherlands. He then began his career in Finance and Accounting at Pratt & Whitney’s Overhaul and Repair Center, Europe. He switched to Marketing and Customer Support in 1987. Five years later Mr. Walschot moved to the United States and joined Pratt & Whitney’s Overhaul and Repair Operations, where he held senior positions in business and operations management.

      From 1995 to 2006, Mr. Walschot held both General Manager and Managing Director positions in a number of Pratt & Whitney wholly owned and joint venture companies in Singapore. After his experience in Asia, he seized the opportunity to become Vice President Operations, Europe, at a manufacturer of printed circuit-board-base materials in Germany, before joining SR Technics in 2008 as Head of Engine Services. In December 2014, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In 2017, Mr. Walschot was called to Haikou, China, for a one-year assignment as Chief Investment Officer of HNA Technic where he developed the MRO strategy of SR Technics’ parent conglomerate, the HNA Group, and helped to consolidate the business. He returned from China to take the helm at SR Technics in April 2018. As the Chief Executive Officer of SR Technics, Frank Walschot was responsible for long-term business sustainability at the MRO supplier. In addition to overseeing the company’s strategy, business plan and budgets, he maintained strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, financial institutions, union and authorities. 

      Mr. Walschot also holds a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University.
