HAECO, TAECO and STAECO, in conjunction with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Engineering Companies, have developed capabilities to convert Boeing 747 and 737 from passenger aircraft to full freighter. Since modification is usually a more economical option than acquiring new aircraft, the freighter conversion industry is set to grow, and HAECO Group is well equipped to meet the growing market demands.
Boeing 747-400 Passenger/Combi to Boeing Converted Freighter
TAECO has the capability to convert a Boeing 747-200/300 passenger aircraft to special freighter and 747-400 passenger aircraft to Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF), using Boeing licence. TAECO is the principal MRO performing this work and performed the first 747-400 passenger aircraft to Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) conversion in December 2005 for Cathay Pacific Airways. As of July 2008, twenty-seven 747-400 have been converted by TAECO, customers include Air Atlanta Icelandic, Air France, Atlas Air, Cathay Pacific Airways, Dragonair, Guggenheim, Japan Airlines, Korean Airlines, Singapore Airlines and UPS.   TOP

Boeing 737-300/-400 Passenger to Full Freighter or Quick Change (QC)
STAECO is responsible for and experienced on conversions of the 737-300/-400 using PEMCO STC. Seven 737-300 passenger aircraft have been converted for Donghai Airlines, Okay Airlines and China Post Airlines. Two 737-400 passenger aircraft have been converted for Bluebird Cargo. Turnaround Time
Full 747-400 conversion can be accomplished in parallel with other structural modification work such as Section 41 and pylon modifications, or heavy maintenance requirements such as ‘D’ checks – thus reducing out-of-service time. The turnaround time is approximately 85-90 days, depending on the amount of additional work specified by the customer.   TOP
