Technical Training

Founded in 1957, HAECO Group’s technical training facilities were first established to meet a pressing need for localised professional training. Through the years, HAECO technical training produced a large population of homegrown aircraft engineering professionals, laying a solid foundation for the Group’s operational excellence. The training and examination services provided by HAECO in Hong Kong and Xiamen serve the Group’s and the aviation industry’s needs in Asia Pacific. To date, more than 10,000 aircraft mechanics and over 700 aircraft maintenance engineers have completed technical training at HAECO’s facility in Hong Kong, its training centre in Xiamen can accommodate 1,000 students each day.

Trainee Development Schemes

Unique locally, these schemes were designed to equip trainees with essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in aircraft engineering. Programmes are offered at the trainee and graduate levels, divided into different streams according to academic qualifications and career aspirations. The Licence and Technical streams of HAECO Hong Kong's Graduate Trainee Programme are The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE)-accredited Scheme A programmes, designed to help trainees in obtaining licences issued by the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong (HKCAD).

Technical Modules

The curricula include basic and trade skills, as well as licence and aircraft type training. Approved training is offered for Cat. A, Cat. B1/B2 line and airframe maintenance licences, covering most Airbus and Boeing commercial aircraft types, as well as various component types. Basic knowledge and aircraft type continuation training is also offered online.
