Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd.

Formed in 1996, HAESL is a Hong Kong-based joint venture company between HAECO and Rolls-Royce plc. It combines the strength and experience of a leading independent MRO in Asia Pacific and a world-leading name in gas turbine engines. HAESL specialises in Rolls-Royce RB211 and Trent engines, offering repair and overhaul services to airlines in Hong Kong, Mainland China, the Middle East and other parts of the world.

HAESL was originally created to take over HAECO’s own engine overhaul operations at the old Kai Tak Airport, and has since grown to become one of the world’s most respected aeronautical engineering facilities in its own right.

Core Areas of Expertise

Specialising in Rolls-Royce RB211 and Trent 500, 700 and 800 engines, HAESL provides aircraft engine overhaul and repair services and 24/7 On-Wing Total Support. The company also posseses significant component repair capabilities – up to 90% on components from the engines it overhauls – allowing it to offer cost-effective alternatives to outright replacement for internal arisings as well as for the international Rolls-Royce engine overhaul and repair network.

HAESL is a Rolls-Royce Centre of Excellence (CoE) for the repair of Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) fan blades, turbine blades, High Pressure / Intermediate Pressure (HP/IP) bearing supports, honeycombs, engine mounts, compressor vanes, Variable Inlet Guide Vane (VIGV), HP/IP compressor case and seal fins. Its honeycomb and HP/IP bearing support repair services were the first in the world to achieve Gold accreditation from Rolls-Royce in 2005, while its turbine blade, fan blade and seal fin cell services achieved the same in 2006, 2007 and 2012 respectively.
