The Environment

As part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, HAECO is committed to protection and conservation of environmental resources. Establishing trust through sound governance commitments to health, safety and environment are very much part of our culture. Every small contribution done by each staff in our working environment can help conserve the scare natural resources and work together towards a better living environment for both present and future generations.

Environmental Policy Objectives

HAECO’s commitment to environmental issues is embodied in its policy to:

conform to the legal requirements and endeavor to adopt higher environmental standards.
quantify all emissions, pollutants and effluents discharged from operations and minimise the release of such.
implement schemes to minimise waste by conserving material resources, recycle waste at source whenever practicable and dispose of all wastes in a safe and responsible manner.
adopt high standards of operational integrity to minimise the risk of environmental incidents to staff and neighboring communities by employing safe technologies and operating procedures.
encourage awareness of environmental issues amongst staff at all levels, emphasising the responsibility of individuals for environmental performance through appropriate operating practices and training.
increase the use of environmentally acceptable materials, equipment and technology in its operations.
always take suppliers’ environmental performance into consideration in formulating its purchasing strategies.
aim to achieve environmental saving and commit to continual improvement on environmental performance

Our environmental protection activities focused mainly on the air quality management, waste management, energy savings and environmental education. A Safety and Environmental Steering Committee has oversight responsibility to ensure policy objectives are met.
